Hardware
The design of each electronic part of your project
Overview
Following the overall design of the robot, we start designing the electronic boards. Each one is specific and has different requirements in terms of components and routing.
Schematic entry
In order to produce an industrial product, the schematics of the designed components are entered into the CAD software.
This step includes :
– Electrical modeling of the components in the CAD software.
– Entering schematics based on the electronic design.
– Schematic review.
– Cross-checking of all equipotentials (netlist).

Hardware design of system and PCB
To ensure that the boards are properly integrated into the mechanical parts, the mechanical constraints must be taken into account when designing the mechanics of the electronic boards.
Printed circuit board routing
PCB routing is carried out using CAD software. This step transforms the schematics into files for PCB manufacturing.
Routing includes :
- Import the PCB template from the mechanical design.
- Modeling of physical component footprints.
- 3D modeling of components to check dimensions (connectors, height, etc.).
- Verification of the mechanical compatibility of all components
- Place components on the printed circuit board.
- Routing of signals and power supplies
- Screen printing.
- Layout of equipment drawings.
- Export to STEP format, for mechanical validation before manufacturing.
- Routing review
- Panelization for manufacturing
- Compilation of Gerber files and manufacturing data required by the PCB manufacturer.
